The Zamalek Club Board of Directors is facing a new crisis within the basketball sector, related to the first team’s participation in the Super League competitions for the 2025/2026 sports season, due to the delay in paying the fees.Financial dues and debts owed to the Egyptian Basketball Federation.
Debts owed by Zamalek to the Basketball Association
Private sources revealed to Cairo 24 that Zamalek owes the Basketball Association an amount estimated at about 7 million pounds, which are dues that must be paid before the club is allowed to officially participate in the new season.
The Zamalek administration had entered into negotiations with the Egyptian Basketball Federation, headed by Amr Moselhy, to obtain an exception allowing the team to register and participate in the associated league championship, while giving the club a grace period until the start of the Super League to settle the debts or pay at least part of them.
The club’s management, headed by Hussein Labib, and his deputy Hisham Nasr, who supervises the group games file, is working to find urgent solutions to the crisis to avoid depriving the team of participating in the Super League championship next season.
