Hebrew media reported on Monday that the Red Cross team had already received 7 Israeli detainees from the Hamas movement, as part of the first batch of an operation that includes the handover of 20 detainees.
Hebrew Channel 13 said that the Red Cross team informed the Israeli side that it had received 7 detainees in Gaza.
Shortly before that, the Israeli army announced that the Red Cross had gone to a meeting point in the northern Gaza Strip where a number of detainees would be transferred into their custody.
Hebrew sources had indicated early on that the detainees would be handed over in two batches from three different areas in the Gaza Strip: Netzarim, the central region camps, and Khan Yunis.
On the other hand, Palestinian sources said that Red Cross buses moved from Gaza to the Kerem Shalom crossing, in preparation for transporting the Palestinian prisoners scheduled to be released.
