Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Al-Musallam, affirmed that in the royal speech, Bahrain’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause, and appreciation of the international efforts and mediators, in stopping the war in Gaza, stressed the support of parliamentary diplomacy for all efforts aimed at achieving security, peace and prosperity.
During the first procedural session of the fourth regular annual session of the sixth legislative term, he expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the sisterly State of Qatar, on the death of a number of diplomats from the Qatari delegation in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, in the unfortunate and painful accident to which they were exposed, asking God Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy and forgiveness, and to dwell them in His spacious Paradise. May he inspire their families with patience and solace, and may he grant the afflicted a speedy recovery and well-being.
The session began with the reading of the text of Royal Decree No. 30 of 2025 regarding calling the Shura and Representatives Councils to convene for the fourth regular annual session of the sixth legislative term, followed by reading the text of Royal Decree No. 32 of 2025 regarding the appointment of His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa as Minister of the Office of His Highness the Prime Minister.
Addressing the representatives, Al-Muslim said: “On behalf of all of you, we are honored to extend our thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, for his kindness in opening the fourth regular session of the sixth legislative term.” He praised the high royal patronage of the work of the House of Representatives, the unlimited support for the legislative authority, and the fruitful cooperation with the executive authority, to serve the nation and the citizens, in light of the comprehensive development process. Al-Musallam appreciated the high contents that came in the high royal speech, in order to develop national action paths for the next stage, which we will strive to implement, with all honesty and responsibility. Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, out of continuous interest and great keenness to achieve the lofty royal aspirations, support the growth of the national economy, and vital initiatives to provide quality job opportunities and improve the standard of living. He stressed the continuation of fruitful coordination with the Shura Council, headed by Ali Al-Saleh and members of the Shura Council, extending his thanks to the Minister of Shura and Representatives Council Affairs, Ghanem Al-Buainain, for his efforts in enhancing joint cooperation with the government. For his part, Minister of Shura and Representative Council Affairs, Ghanem Al-Buainain, praised the sublime content of His Majesty the King’s speech, stressing the government’s permanent commitment to cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, indicating that the government seeks to cooperate with representatives to approve important legislation.
