The Deputy Minister of Health refers the administration of Al-Ahrar Teaching Hospital in Sharqiya for investigation

Dr. Amr Qandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, inspected Al-Ahrar Teaching Hospital in Sharkia Governorate, within the framework of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to follow up on the progress of work in the field and ensure the quality of medical services provided to citizens.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the Deputy Minister observed several negative observations during his tour, as he criticized the absence of the duty director and the director of the reception and emergency department. He also noted the weak frequency of visits to the physical therapy clinic despite the availability of 46 practitioners and specialists. In the radiology department, the Deputy Minister listened to the complaints of frequenters about the delay in CT scan reports for more than 4 days, and he immediately directed By accelerating the issuance of reports and their delivery to patients.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the tour included outpatient clinics, where the Deputy Minister noticed the overcrowding of citizens and the absence of the clinics director, and the weakness of the interventional procedures in the dental clinic was revealed. During the inspection of the departments, he monitored the case of a patient who had visited the hospital several times without receiving the necessary treatment, so he directed that medical service be provided to her immediately. In return, the Deputy Minister praised the performance of the medical team in the cardiac catheterization department, and the level of intensive care.

The official spokesman indicated that Dr. Qandil directed the rapid completion of maintenance work in the hospital, and the optimal use of the capabilities of the operating rooms, which are not proportionate to the number of operations performed. He also noted the poor level of cleanliness, and directed the imposition of sanctions on the cleaning company, with an emphasis on strengthening administrative discipline.

At the conclusion of the tour, the Deputy Minister directed that the hospital administration be transferred for investigation, and that the necessary legal measures be taken against those who were negligent, to ensure improvement in the quality of medical services provided to citizens.
