The Second Circuit of Terrorism, headed by Counselor Wagdy Abdel Moneim, decided today, Saturday, to postpone the trial of 87 defendants, in Case No. 19115 of 2024, the first Nasr City felonies, in the case known as the Nasr City Cell, to the next December 13 pleading session.

The referral order stated that during the period from 2021 until October 9, 2024, the defendants from the first to the eighteenth assumed the leadership of a terrorist group that was established in contravention of the provisions of the law, preventing state institutions and public authorities from carrying out their work, attacking the personal freedom of citizens, rights and freedoms, and harming national unity, social peace, and national security, by establishing and assuming the leadership of a group calling for changing the government system by force, targeting public institutions, and attacking. Individuals, a group called Al-Qaeda.
The nineteenth to the last defendants were charged with joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its terrorist purposes, and the second and fourth defendants were charged with financing terrorism.
In a separate context, the First Circuit of Terrorism, held in Badr, headed by Counselor Mohamed Al-Saeed El-Sherbiny, decided to stop the case in the trial of 15 accused, in Case No. 19632 of 2024, Nasr City First Felonies, until it is presented to the President of Appeal.
The referral order said that, during the period from 2013, until January 4, 2020, the first to the fifth defendants assumed the leadership of a terrorist group for the purpose of calling for disruption of public order and endangering the safety and security of society, disrupting the provisions of the Constitution and the law, and of state institutions and public authorities from carrying out their work, assaulting the personal freedoms of citizens, and harming national unity and social peace, by establishing the first defendant and the two defendants assumed the leadership of a group. She embraces the ideas of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda.
The referral order continued: The sixth to the last defendants joined the group that is the subject of the accusation with knowledge of its purposes. The first and second defendants, and the sixth to the last defendants, were charged with financing terrorism. The third to fifth defendants were charged with incitement and assistance in committing the crime of financing terrorism. The fourth defendant was charged with possession of a traditional weapon for use in committing a terrorist crime.
