Artist Afaf Shuaib stressed the importance of art and artists in promoting positive ideas in societies, noting the importance of dealing kindly with orphan children.
Afaf Shuaib said during television statements: We must take care of the orphaned children. We will not be us while time is on them. In the 1980s, families used to host a group of orphans and take care of them for an entire day, and we as artists must promote this because we are role models.
Afaf Shuaib continued: Egyptian art has leadership, and Egypt is the mother of history and sophistication. Why have we reached this point in artistic works? We must raise a respectable generation, and there must be role models for us to follow.
Afaf Shuaib: The late Samiha Ayoub is my teacher
In another context, Afaf Shuaib previously expressed her great love for the late artist Samiha Ayoub, and she said during her statements to Cairo 24: I attended the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the late Samiha Ayoub for her sake, because I was upset that the time of her funeral was during Hajj, so I was upset that I did not attend the funeral, and she is my teacher and she taught me a lot.
