US President Donald Trump received an official invitation from the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Amir Ohana, to deliver a speech before the Israeli Parliament during his upcoming visit to the Middle East, in an invitation of its kind that Trump has received from the Knesset.
The Israeli Knesset extends an official invitation to Trump to deliver a speech following the announcement of the Gaza Agreement
Hebrew Channel 12 reported that Ohana sent an official letter to Trump in which he invited him to deliver a speech before members of the Knesset, and Ohana published the text of the invitation through his account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), saying:
“It is my great honor to formally invite the greatest friend and ally of the Jewish people in modern history, President Donald Trump, to deliver a formal address to the nation before the Knesset.”
Earlier Thursday, the Israeli Prime Minister extended a similar invitation to Trump to deliver a speech in the Knesset, following the announcement of the signing of the Gaza Agreement between Israel and the Hamas movement regarding the first phase of a framework for peace sponsored by the American administration.
For his part, Trump announced in statements to Axios and CNN analyst Barak Ravid that he would likely visit Israel in the coming days, saying: “They want me to deliver a speech in the Knesset, and I will certainly do that if they want.”
