The day after tomorrow, Sunday, the Shura Council will hold its first “procedural” session within the fourth regular session of the sixth legislative term, after the end of the official opening ceremony, marking the beginning of a new phase of legislative and oversight work in the Council.

The session’s agenda includes the recitation of the names of the members who excused themselves from attending, then the recitation of Royal Order No. (30) of 2025 issued calling the Shura and Representatives Councils to convene for the fourth regular session of the sixth legislative term.

During the session, the messages received to the Council will be reviewed, followed by a speech by the Speaker of the Shura Council, Ali Al-Saleh, which comes at the beginning of the Council’s work to confirm the achievements achieved during the previous chapters, and review the priorities for the next stage.

The Council will then continue to elect the first vice-president of the Council, then elect the second vice-president, in preparation for completing the formation of the Council’s bureau body in accordance with the applicable regulatory procedures. At the conclusion of the session, the Council will also address any new business, as part of preparing for the launch of the upcoming sessions, which will address the various legislative and supervisory files on its agenda.

The holding of the session comes as an affirmation of the Shura Council’s keenness to continue its active role in supporting the democratic process in Bahrain, and to enhance constructive cooperation with the executive authority in a way that serves the highest national interest.
