US President Donald Trump announced on the Truth Social platform that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of the Gaza agreement proposed by the United States, which allows for the release of all Israeli hostages.
Trump said on the Truth Social platform, “I am honored to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our peace plan.” He added, “This means that all hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw its forces to an agreed upon line as the first steps towards a strong, lasting and sustainable peace.”
He said: “It is a great day for the Arab and Islamic worlds, for Israel, for all neighboring countries, and for the United States of America. We extend our thanks to the mediators from Qatar, Egypt and Turkey who worked with us to achieve this historic and unprecedented event. All appreciation to the peacemakers!
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “With God’s help, we will bring them all home,” referring to the Israeli hostages being held in Gaza, shortly after President Trump announced that Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) had signed the first phase of an agreement regarding Gaza. Netanyahu made these comments in a brief statement.
The Hamas movement announced that an agreement had been reached to end the Gaza war, Israel’s withdrawal, the entry of aid, and the exchange of prisoners. In a statement, the movement called on Trump, the countries guarantoring the agreement, and various Arab, Islamic, and international parties to oblige Israel to fully implement the agreement’s entitlements.
For his part, Majid Al-Ansari, spokesman for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced today, Thursday, that all provisions and mechanisms for implementing the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza have been agreed upon, leading to stopping the war, releasing Israeli hostages and Palestinian detainees, and the entry of aid. He stated via “X” that the details will be announced later.
