The condolence ceremony of Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars and former President of Al-Azhar University, witnessed a large official and religious presence, led by the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, who was keen to offer his condolences to the venerable scholar.
The moment His Eminence the Grand Imam arrived at the funeral pavilion, there was a huge crowd of attendees who were keen to greet him and kiss his hand in appreciation of his religious and scholarly status, in a scene that reflects the great respect enjoyed by the Sheikh of Al-Azhar among all citizens.
The Sheikh of Al-Azhar was accompanied by Dr. Shawqi Allam, the former Mufti of the Republic, and Dr. Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa, Minister of Endowments, as they offered their condolences to the family of the deceased, stressing that Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem was a divine scholar and one of the symbols of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif who devoted their lives in the service of religion and the nation.

The condolences of Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars and former president of Al-Azhar University, also witnessed a wide presence of religious and public figures, who were keen to offer their condolences and honor the deceased’s scholarly and advocacy biography.
At the forefront of those present were the head of the Ashraf Syndicate, Mahmoud Al-Sharif, and the vocalists Mahmoud Al-Tahami and Ihab Younis, who participated in a religious chanting session to bid farewell to one of the symbols of the Al-Azhar community.
The funeral was also attended by Dr. Hassan Rateb, the businessman, along with the preacher Sheikh Yusri Jabr and the preacher Yusri Azzam, amid a remarkable participation of symbols of advocacy and media work.
Taher Abu Zeid, the former Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Shawqi Allam, the former Mufti of the Republic, also participated in offering condolences, who expressed their appreciation for the deceased’s career and his academic and religious standing.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem was one of the most prominent scholars of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and he made great contributions in the fields of advocacy, education, and scientific research, and held many high academic and religious positions during his career.
