Star Mohamed Henedy announced his new dramatic project, which brings him together this time with the great author Youssef Maati, in a collaboration that returns the latter to the drama arena after an absence for several years.

Henedy published a picture of him and Maati on his official Facebook page, announcing that the name of the new series would be Abdeen, but he quickly modified the post later, announcing the name change to Qandil, without revealing the reasons for this change.
Youssef Maaty had previously spoken to Cairo 24, confirming that he is currently working on preparing several artistic projects, including a new series that is expected to be directed by Rami Imam, and which may be shown during the next Ramadan drama season, noting that the final agreement regarding the work has not yet been officially concluded.
This anticipated work is the return of Maaty after his last dramatic appearance in the series Adly Allam’s Goblins, which was shown in Ramadan 2017, starring the artist Adel Imam, directed by Rami Imam, and co-starring with Hala Sedqi, Ghada Adel, Kamal Abu Rayya, Mai Omar, and Moamen Nour. The events of the series revolved around Adly Allam, an educated employee at Dar al-Kutub, whose life turns upside down after the appearance of Sala, the demon, who offers to help him change his life in exchange for allowing her to interfere in the details of his diaries.
As for cinema, Maati’s last work was the film “Terrible Tita”, which also brought him together with Mohamed Henedy, and was directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz. A group of stars participated in the film, including Samiha Ayoub, Basem Samra, Amy Samir Ghanem, and Mohamed Farrag. At the time of its release, the work achieved great success, as it dealt with the story of Raouf, who is trying to escape the influence of his domineering grandmother after her sudden return from Germany, beginning new chapters of comedic conflicts that turn his marital life upside down.
