Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Basketball Federation, confirmed that hosting the Kingdom of Bahrain for the global basketball round 3X3, the “Master” category on November 21 and 22, represents a new station in the march of successes achieved by the Kingdom in hosting and organizing major international sports events, and reflects the prestigious position that Bahrain occupies on the global sports map.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed said that the organization of this great global event, which is held under the gracious patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the General Authority for Sports and Chairman of the Bahraini Olympic Committee, confirms the great confidence in Bahrain with the International Basketball Federation (Fiba), and represents a culmination of the continuous efforts made by the Kingdom to enhance its presence in the international sports scene.
The President of the Bahrain Basketball Federation pointed out that the edition of this year is of special importance because it is the closing station of the global tours series that started last April and roamed many cities and capitals around the world, to drop the curtain on the 2025 season from the heart of the capital, Manama, explaining that this international confidence reflects the organizational successes that Bahrain achieved in the previous two versions of the global tour.
He explained that the tour will be held in the “North Haber” area near the financial port, which was greatly praised by the International Basketball Federation during the past two versions, which made it a preferred site to host the event for the third year in a row, adding that the Supreme Organizing Committee chaired by His Highness Sheikh Issa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice -President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee is working to invest the event to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain and enhance its position on the global sports arena.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed stressed that the tour will witness the participation of the most prominent 3×3 teams in the world and will be transferred through global channels to various countries of the world, noting that the event will be accompanied by the organization of a local championship, along with a Gulf women championship 3×3, in a move aimed at expanding the base of the game and enhancing community participation.
He also noted that the organizing committee has allocated a comprehensive entertainment area for the masses that combine sporting, cultural and family events, in a way that contributes to providing a distinguished mass experience and enhancing tourism and public presence in this global event that the game lovers around the world ahead.
