A new academic study, published today, Tuesday, in conjunction with the second anniversary of Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, revealed that, under the departments of former President Joe Biden and current President Donald Trump, the United States provided military aid for at least 21.7 billion dollars since the beginning of the Gaza war two years ago.
Another study, which was also published by the “War costs” project at Watson College for International and Public Affairs at the University of Brown, indicated that the United States has spent about 10 billion dollars in security aid and operations in the broader Middle East region during the past two years.
While the reports in most of its results depend on open sources, it provides some of the most comprehensive accounts of US military aid to Israel, Washington’s documentary ally, and estimates of the cost of direct military military intervention in the Middle East.
The US State Department office has not conducted an immediate comment about the volume of military aid provided to Israel since October 2023, while the White House referred inquiries to the Ministry of Defense, which only supervises part of this aid.
