Dr. Mahmoud Abu Hashem, formerly the Vice President of Al -Azhar University, Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem, mourned, saying: We mourn to the Arab and Islamic world the death of the imam of the imams, the scholar of the Islamic nation and the Commander of the Faithful in the hadith of the righteous guardian uncle, Imam Al -Sharif, Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem.

He wrote through his account on Facebook: We belong to God and to Him we shall return with hearts filled with faith and contentment with God’s judgment.
He continued: We ask God to replace him with a house better than his house and a good family than his family and to make heaven his resting place, and to inspire us and you patience and reckoning, and the funeral prayer will be held, God willing, today after the noon prayer in the Al -Azhar Mosque, then the pure body is shown to his last resting place in the family burials in the Hashemite Square in the village of Bani Amer.
