Amid an unlimited bet on Cairo’s success as a honest and powerful mediator with historical experience in managing indirect negotiations between the Palestinians and Israel, the Egyptian city of Sharm El -Sheikh will start on Monday evening, indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, under the auspices of America and Qatar, to discuss arrangements for the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza.
The Egyptian role in managing negotiations and strong American support enhances the hopes of observers in the success of the negotiations, as Egypt, along with its historical experience in managing such negotiations, has other papers, the most important of which is to provide the ability to provide security guarantees to both parties, which enhances the opportunities to reach a final agreement to stop the war, in light of the American administration’s insistence to end the conflict.
Last Sunday, Trump said in a post on “Truth Social”, that the technical teams will meet again in Egypt, on Monday, to discuss the final details, adding: “I reported that the first stage of the plan will be completed this week,” and the first stage includes a standing of fire, and an initial Israeli withdrawal in exchange for the release of all neighboring Israeli detainees and the dead.
With Hamas’s lack of confidence in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the movement is calling for strong guarantees against any possible Israeli retreat, from the obligations contained in the plan of US President Donald Trump, which prompted the movement’s delegation to insist on the existence of accurate control mechanisms to ensure the implementation of the agreement according to specific time schedules, which is the approach that reflects the enthusiasm of a future for a future that avoids previous traps, and activates the mechanism of “guarantees” in an attempt to build Mutual trust.
Among the conditions set by the Hamas delegation on the table, the Israeli withdrawal request is highlighted behind the lines specified in the Trump plan, with the evacuation of the areas of population gatherings in Gaza, which is the requirement that is essential for the restoration of normal life in the Strip, where it is expected to reduce daily tensions, and may open doors for international investments in the sector, in a way that enhances the Palestinian economy and reduces dependence on aid, and in this context it demands the movement’s delegation as well, as well. In a clear time schedule for the withdrawal of the final occupation forces, in the context of guarantees that avoid any delay in implementation and the return of the situation to the zero square.
Trump welcomed earlier, a response from Hamas, saying that it accepted some of the main parts of his 20 -items proposal, including ending the Israeli war and withdrawal from the Strip, and the release of Israeli detainees in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners.

Likewise, Hamas calls for the abolition of the Israeli veto on the names of fifty prisoners of Palestinian leaders who refuse to release them, a requirement that achieves the movement’s point of view “justice in the exchange process” and liberates the symbols of historical resistance, in a way that enhances the image of Hamas and contributes to the restoration of its popularity internally.
Perhaps the abolition of the veto in the future leads to a collective release that restores the balance of power between the Palestinian Palestinian factions to a moment of balance that paves the way for internal reconciliation, and highlighting a Palestinian national leadership that has the legitimacy necessary to lead a peace path with Israel, under the umbrella of broad Arab support to enhance stability in the region.

However, the challenge remains to ensure that the plan is not used to enhance Israeli control, which requires continuous international control.
These negotiations, if they succeed, are a historical opportunity to end the conflict in Gaza, which may lead to broader negotiations on issues of the final solution to the conflict with Israel, such as Jerusalem and borders, especially with the increasing international support for the Palestinians and peace in the region.
