Dr. Wael Zuair, a member of the Egyptian Federation of Tourism Chambers, said that the new hotel investments constitute an important step within the axes that the state is working on to enhance the growth of Egyptian tourism, which witnessed successive leaps and record numbers for the third season in a row.
Dr. Zuair pointed out, during an intervention with the journalist Mohamed Al Mahdi, on the “Extra News” channel, that the state aims to attract 30 million tourists by 2030, stressing the importance of increasing the capacity of hotels, whether through the hotels established by the state or through various private investments, adding that the number of tourists in the first half of this year reached 8.7 million tourists, an increase of 22% compared to the same period last year, with expectations The number reached 18 million tourists at the end of the 2025 season, especially with the approaching Christmas and New Year celebrations and the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Promote Egyptian tourism growth
On the operating plan of about 50 hotels in areas extending from Ras Al -Hikma to Sokhna and New Zayed, he explained that the choice of these areas is based on the criteria for attracting tourists, noting the importance of providing new and distinct tourist attractions, in addition to a good road network that facilitates access to these areas, which makes them an ideal environment for hotel investment.
He added that the state has completed important infrastructure projects, such as linking the different tourist cities, which contributed to the entry of new areas such as the northern coast, Marsa Matrouh, Siwa, Al -Okhat, and St. Catherine to the Egyptian and international tourism map.
