Despite the anticipation of indirect negotiations in Egypt between Israel and Hamas on the executive measures to implement the plan of US President Donald Trump on stopping the war in Gaza, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that “Hamas has agreed in principle to what will happen after the war.” He said: “We will know quickly whether Hamas is serious or not.”

Rubio also explained, when it was asked today, Sunday, whether the war in Gaza will end soon, that “there are ongoing meetings on the Israel and Hamas agreement,” according to Reuters.

In addition, he expressed his hope “to finish logistical matters related to this issue very quickly.”

“The second stage is difficult”

However, he stressed at the same time that the second stage of the Gaza plan will not be easy, in reference to the gathering of weapons from the devastating sector and the withdrawal of the Israeli forces.

He also added, “After Hamas left the Strip, we will need time to form a Gaza control administration.” And he added, “It is not possible to establish a structure of Gaza rule that does not include Hamas in three days.”

As for his expectation of the possibility of the release of Israeli prisoners this week, the American minister said, “Their release as soon as possible.”

The Israeli delegation to Cairo

In conjunction, a spokeswoman for the Israeli government announced that “Israeli negotiators will go to Egypt tonight, where negotiations are expected to start the release of the hostages tomorrow.”

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry confirmed yesterday, Saturday, that Cairo will host two delegations from Israel and the Hamas movement on October 5 and 6, to discuss the provision of field conditions and details of the exchange of all Israeli and Palestinian prisoners.

While the Arab/Al -Hadath correspondent reported that the Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, will head the Israeli delegation.

While Trump’s delegate went to the Middle East, Steve Witkeov, and his son -in -law Jared Kushner to Egypt to put the finishing touches on the details of the release of the prisoners, according to what an official at the White House announced yesterday.

And Trump announced, last week, a plan of 20 items to stop the war in Gaza, and to establish peace, which mainly included the immediate release of all neighboring Israeli prisoners and bodies, in exchange for Israel also launching hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

It also stipulated a gradual withdrawal of the Israeli forces from the Strip, without specifying a timetable, and withdrawing weapons from all over Gaza, as well as Hamas’s removal from the destroyer sector administration.

It also included the formation of a transitional body for the Gaza administration, under international supervision and participation, to take over the Palestinian Authority later.
