The judiciary in Iran announced, on Saturday, that it had carried out the death sentence with six people who said they were members of a “terrorist” group and was convicted of launching armed attacks in Khuzestan Governorate in the southwest of the country.
The judicial authorities said on the “Mizan Online” website, “The death sentence was carried out today against 6 terrorist separatists who have committed in recent years a series of armed operations and bombings, targeting the security of the governorate of Hawzestan,” said the judicial authorities on the “Mizan Online” website.
Iranian media reported: “The defendants admitted to planning and carrying out several bloody operations, including the assassination of 4 security defenders and a bombing operation in the city of Khurramshahr, Khuzestan region, southwest of Iran.”
She added that in addition to their role, “in terrorist operations, the aforementioned elements were in contact with the Zionist entity and received support from hostile foreign parties.”
She added: “The actions of the terrorists, who have been executed by the death sentence, formed a frequent threat to the security and safety of citizens in Khuzestan over the past years.”
