Friday officials confirmed that the US Treasury is planning to issue a single -dollar metal coin, bearing the image of President Donald Trump, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Treasury Secretary, Scott Besent, re -published a publication of Treasury Secretary Brandon Beach, which included a initial design of the currency. Beach posted on the X drafts of preliminary designs, with confirmation that he “is looking to publish more of them soon, as soon as the American government closure ends.”
One of the designs shows a picture of Trump on the face of the coin, while the back holds another picture of him, raising his grip in front of an American flag with the phrase “Harb Harb Harb.”
The image is taken after his assassination attempt last year during his campaign. When asked about the currency, a Treasury spokesman criticized what he described as “the forced closure imposed by the extremist left on our government.” Then he added, “This first draft clearly reflects the established spirit of our country and our democracy, even in the face of tremendous obstacles.”
The Congress approved in 2020 legislation that Trump signed in his first term allowing the Treasury to issue one -dollar coins “with symbolic designs to celebrate the 55th centennial of the United States.” The Ministry can instruct a metal currencies, and it is released during one year starting in January 2026.
The US Congress imposes restrictions on the use of the Treasury Ministry of neighborhoods in currency designs, and it is not clear if the Trump currency designs will face obstacles under the current laws.
