Both Egypt and Qatar welcomed the recent statement of Hamas, in which it announced its approval of the proposal of US President Donald Trump on ending the war in Gaza, and the release of all prisoners according to the formula of exchange in the plan.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the “Hamas” statement represents “an opportunity to revive the peace process and end contracts from the Palestinian -Israeli conflict,” calling on all parties to adhere to the Trump plan and international mechanisms, and implement an immediate ceasefire, paving the way for peace and embodying the Palestinian state.
For its part, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed its welcome to the declaration of Hamas and its willingness to release the detainees, stressing the support of President Trump’s statements, which called for an immediate ceasefire to facilitate the release of the detainees and the cessation of blood bleeding in Gaza.
The Qatar Foreign Ministry added that Doha started working with its brokerage partners, especially Egypt, in coordination with the United States, to complete the discussions about the plan in a way that ensures an end to the ongoing war.
