His Holiness Pope Tawadros II inaugurated this morning the Church of the Magara in the Monastery of the Virgin Mary in Denka, Assiut Governorate, with the participation of 28 bishops and bishops, in the presence of a great popular presence.

His Holiness began the visit by unveiling the memorial painting that chronicles the opening of the church, then he went inside it, led by Khoury Al -Shammasa, while they were receiving the reception melodies, where he was met with a warm welcome from the crowd of attendees.
During the inauguration prayers, the main altar was launched on the name of the Virgin Mary, and the side altar in the name of the Holy Family, in addition to the inauguration of the icon of the Father’s bosom (Pantaturter) with the altar and two other icons inside the church, and His Holiness the Pope explained that the massacre of wood comes a reference to the cross of the cross.
For his part, His Eminence, Anba Yoannis, the bishop of Assiut and the secretary of the Holy Synod, thanked the Holiness of the Pope for his visit, reviewing the historical certificates that prove the arrival and residence of the Holy Family to the Holy Family, stressing that the largest global celebration of the Virgin Mary is held in this monastery where more than five million visitors come during the fast of the Virgin.
In the sermon of the Mass, His Holiness spoke about the holiness as a way to the sky, stressing that “without holiness will not see one of God,” and explaining that holiness is manifested in multiple forms, from kings, simple, men and women, senior and young, according to the grace that God gives to every human being.
His Holiness presented five basic points of behavior in the way of holiness:
- Attending will and spiritual jihad.
- Commitment to holy secrets and serious repentance.
- Service with love and self -denial.
- Modesty as an essential virtue.
- Meditation on the biographies of the saints as an example and a model of spiritual life.
The Pope concluded his speech by inviting everyone to seek holiness with the spirit of love and humility, stressing that the Church is an open window on the sky that leads its children to the path of salvation.
