The British Guardian newspaper reported that Hamas is studying the response to the ceasefire proposal put forward by US President Donald Trump, amid indications that it will demand fundamental amendments, but it may accept the plan mainly to negotiate in the coming days.

Trump’s deadline and warnings

Trump gave Hamas a period of “three to four days” to respond to his 20 -to -an item, which aims to end the two -year war in Gaza and establish a long -term international administration for the sector. Trump warned that enthusiasm for acceptance or “pushing in hell”.

Difficult options for Hamas

Political analyst Makhimer Abu Saada, residing in Cairo, quoted the newspaper as saying that the movement finds itself between two “bad and worse” options. The rejection of the plan will give Israel the green light to escalate its operations, while conditional acceptance may open a narrow window for negotiation.

The most prominent obstacles

The Guardian notes that the entirely of Hamas’s disarmament demand represents the largest obstacle to accepting the plan, as the movement believes that abandoning its weapon without a political process or progressing towards a two -state solution is not possible.

Regional and international pressure

The newspaper explains that Türkiye and Qatar are pressuring Hamas to push it towards concessions, while the military position in Gaza remains more strict. Experts believe that any incomplete acceptance will be used against it by Israel and Washington and perhaps the Europeans.

Israeli position

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed his approval of the plan, which was formulated in line with the Israeli demands, threatening that its refusal or obstructing its implementation will lead to “completing the mission to the end.”

Heavy losses and continued conflict

Hamas incurred significant losses, as thousands of fighters and most of its military leaders were killed, but it still retains combat and organizational capabilities, which makes reaching a complex final settlement.
