In Singapore, restrictions are imposed on the recruitment of foreign workers in some sectors to ensure fair opportunities for citizens, and these policies mean organizing the labor market to serve the national interest.
According to official statistics, the number of unemployed in Bahrain in 2024 reached 17402 people, of whom 12196 women, equivalent to 70% of the total of the unemployed, while holders of Bachelor’s degrees constitute 83% of the unemployed.
These numbers not only reflect the size of the problem, but also reveal a gap in investing qualified human energies, which makes this important and qualitative decision a strategic step towards redirect these energies into productive paths, to translate in a practical way the concept of “empowerment when working”.
Empowerment through a job is an important concept that includes building an environment that allows the individual to participate effectively, and feels the ability to make decisions and self -realization by contributing to development.
Hence, providing three opportunities for each job seeker is more than just a job offer; It is an invitation to engage, to choose, and to control the quality of the offer. This initiative places the citizen on the path of development and makes him feel dignity and belonging, and thus the direction turns into a comprehensive empowerment model, to put the person at the heart of development with decent and appropriate job options.
Directing His Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, to present three opportunities for every job researcher represents a promising start for a real change on the ground, but it needs to be followed up to ensure the quality of opportunities, not just their number.
Employment is not just a procedure, but rather empowerment, right, and the basis for social and economic stability.
