Within the framework of its ambitious strategy to enhance the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a regional direction for advanced health care, royal medical services continue to implement a series of qualitative initiatives that contribute to the development of specialized medicine and the adoption of the latest global technologies. In this context, the Royal Medical Services announced the inauguration of an integrated nervous science center in the military hospital clinics.
Brigadier General Sheikh Fahd bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services, stated that the inauguration of the center represents a leading step in line with the royal royal directives, and translates keenness to develop the health system in line with the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, stressing that the new center will constitute a qualitative shift in the field of neuroscience through an integrated treatment and diagnostic system.
He pointed out that the center is concerned with providing accurate services that include the treatment of Parkinson’s diseases and epilepsy, deep stimulation of the brain, and complex neurological surgeries, supported by advanced nervous imaging systems such as advanced MRI and high -resolution tomography, which enhances the accuracy of the diagnosis and accelerates therapeutic intervention. The center also includes units dedicated to children, providing individual treatment plans and psychological and family support programs, in a manner that ensures the provision of comprehensive and integrated care that elevates the quality of the life of patients and their families.
Parkinson’s disease is receiving special attention at the Center for Neuroscience, due to its impact on many patients in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the gradual and chronic impurity it causes in movement, speech, balance and memory. Royal Medical Services have been keen to be one of its first priorities, as it has placed a unified medical path that includes the stages of diagnosis and early treatment to advanced treatments, including surgical interventions and modern medical techniques.
On the other hand, the Center for Neurology of the Royal Medical Services at the Military Hospital announced the introduction of an innovative technique to measure cerebral ultrasound (ICP Ultrasound) for the first time in the Kingdom, under the supervision of Dr. Hossam Al -Juhani, a consultant of neurosurgery and neurological care and head of the Department of Neuroscience in Royal Medical Services. This technique was successfully applied to a patient with a critical brain injury, as the examination, which took only three minutes, enabled a rapid and accurate evaluation of the brain of the brain without the need for any surgical intervention.
Dr. Hossam Al -Juhani emphasized that this technique is one of the methods adopted in the global advanced nervous centers, and today it is available exclusively in the Kingdom of Bahrain through the Center for Neurology, which enhances the ability of medical teams to deal with critical cases with higher efficiency.
Colonel Raafat Hammad Sorour, a children’s brain consultant at the Military Hospital, said that the nervous science center is an integrated model for advanced care, as it combines the latest medical technologies and qualified national expertise to provide specialized services for all age groups, including children. The allocation of therapeutic units and programs for children reflects the commitment to providing comprehensive and safe care that ensures accurate follow -up to each case, with psychological and family support that keeps pace with the best global practices in neuroscience.
For his part, Dr. Hossam Al -Juhani indicated that the Royal Medical Services have been able during the past years to build a solid base in the treatment of Parkinson’s diseases and epilepsy through modern pharmaceutical treatments, surgical interventions and nervous rehabilitation programs, stressing that the new center will expand these efforts and provide patients with care comparable to the finest international centers.
A number of international experts who visited Bahrain recently praised the visiting doctor’s program with the advanced level achieved by the Royal Medical Services in the field of neurological sciences, considering that this project embodies a pioneering model in the region in terms of integrating modern medical technology with qualified national competencies.
