The head of the Municipal Muharraq Council, Abdulaziz Al -Nida, affirmed that the percentage of accepting lighting requests submitted by the council does not exceed 5%, indicating that the weak coordination with the Electricity and Water Authority led to the disruption of the implementation of a number of requests related to the interests of citizens. This came during the session of the Municipal Municipal Council yesterday, in which he discussed a response to a previous recommendation regarding the lighting installation request over the extension of 3327 in the monastery area, complex 233.

Al -Nida pointed out that the council demanded a direct meeting with the authority to discuss the mechanisms, especially since every time it is agreed on a specific formula for submission, later new mechanisms or forms are created that hinder the completion of requests.

For his part, the council member, representative of the sixth district, Fadel Al -Oud, indicated that the authority has turned from being a body to a company; This made the profit and loss one of its priorities, which was reflected in the reduction of some services provided to citizens, pointing out that despite the fulfillment of all the necessary requirements and procedures, no request was accepted to install lighting in its submission since 2022.

For her part, the representative of the second department, Dalal Al -Muqawi, stressed that lighting requests in her district face a frequent delay due to changing the mechanisms and the requirement of new forms, pointing out that she has requests approved by the minister, but that the authority has not approved them yet. She explained that the nature of its old circle does not require the creation of a new infrastructure, which directly facilitates the process of installation of lighting.

In turn. The representative of the seventh district, Ahmed Al -Muqawi, indicated that the authority shows a speed in taking measures to cut off the electrical current, while the requests of citizens submitted through the municipal councils face delay and lack of response, which requires improving work mechanisms and coordination in a way that achieves the aspirations of the people.
