The issue of job seekers (or the unemployed) has always been a large -scale societal concern, especially with regard to the extent to which job opportunities offered with the qualifications and specializations of researchers, especially those with academic competencies and accurate specializations, and this matter we wrote repeatedly during the previous years.
Accordingly, the directive issued by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him, regarding the provision of three job opportunities for every researcher for a job registered with the Ministry of Labor before the end of this year, represents a strategic initiative that confirms the practical and serious trend to address one of the most prominent challenges in our country.
The decision confirms the priority of the citizen in the government’s agenda, and is consistent with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, that the citizen is the focus of development and its supreme goal.
The guidance also comes to provide a qualitative shift in the mechanism of dealing with the recruitment file, by giving researchers more than one option, allowing them to choose what is appropriate for their professional capabilities and aspirations.
The Ministry of Labor has already begun to implement this directive through a series of organizational measures that aim to present three opportunities for every job researcher, in cooperation with the private sector, which is a pivotal partner in supporting economic growth. These efforts included extending the daily working hours until the evening, with the aim of accelerating the pace of submitting job offers and ensuring their compatibility with the qualifications and tendencies of job seekers.
It is a step that comes at a time when the Bahraini citizen is looking forward to influential initiatives that support his aspirations, and provides him with professional opportunities worthy of his qualifications, as the issue is no longer only related to providing a job, but by providing options that enhance professional stability and open up prospects for development and advancement.
Prince Salman, and God’s jurisprudence, referred to the efficiency of the Bahraini citizen, which I have historically proven in the various stages of national construction, from diving and oil industry to modern sectors such as finance, information technology and tourism, which confirms that investing in the national human element is the pillar of sustainable development.
What we have noticed is that since the announcement of the guidance, it has had a wide and positive interaction from different groups of society, who saw it as an actual start to the realistic treatment of the employment file, based on empowerment, not temporary or traditional employment, and on the availability of options, not imposing ready -made solutions.
The truth is that this guidance represents a shift in government policies towards employment, and expresses a strategic commitment to the transformation towards a more fair and effective model in integrating national competencies into the labor market. Especially since the Bahraini citizen, with his skills and ambition, deserves to be a real partner in development, and what happens is an important step in this direction.
