The head of the municipal council for the northern region, Sayyid Shabir Al -Wadai, called for an acceleration in finding a fundamental solution to the problem of the Nurana coast, indicating that the problem disturbs the parents, and poses a great danger to children, whether from the residents of the region, or from the visitors of the coast.
He also called on the concerned authorities to expedite the preparation of a study to plan and classify the land of the coast, as they are still not planned until now, which hinders the progress in the required technical solutions.
Al -Wadai added that the danger of clay spots doubles with the moderation of the atmosphere and the coast turned into an entertainment destination for the families and visitors, as this soil may be swept away in the event of lack of attention, and it is difficult to get them out of them.
This came during an exploratory visit to the Nurana coast to inspect the clay soil and discuss procedural requirements and technical solutions to address the problem, in the presence of a number of concerned authorities, including the Supreme Council for the Environment, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture (Northern Municipality), the Northern Governorate Police Directorate, the General Administration of Civil Defense, and the cleaning company, in addition to the control and inspection departments.
The concerned authorities presented a set of urgent solutions to address the problem of clay soil that threatens the safety of the people and visitors, foremost of which is the development of clear warning signals to alert the coast visitors, fence the dangerous area, in addition to converting the stream of the sea water away from the clay stains, and setting sea rocks to settle the land and prevent the widening of the mud area.
