Dr. Salama Jumaa Dawood, President of Al -Azhar University, inspected the Hanafi Foot Unit at Al -Zahra University Hospital, which provides an integrated medical service for free for more than 20 years, at a cost of up to 3 thousand dollars per child, this came in a humanitarian gesture that reflects the leading societal role of Al -Azhar University.
Within the framework of the societal role offered by Al -Azhar Al -Sharif as a mosque and a university, and under the auspices of the Honorable Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, Dr. Salama Juma Dawood, President of Al -Azhar University, conducted an inspection tour of the Department of Orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine for Girls in Cairo – Al -Zahra University Hospital.
The President of the University was received by Dr. Sabila Musa, Dean of the College, Dr. Yasser Al -Batrawi, Head of Orthopedic Surgery Department, Dr. Mahmoud Mabrouk, Director General of Al -Zahra University Hospital, Dr. Siham Ahmed, Deputy Director, and a number of professors of the department.
The child’s treatment costs 3 thousand dollars.
During the tour, the President of the University inspected the Hanafi Foot Unit, which has been operating from 2003 until today, and provides a free treatment service for children with hikers, by using a non -surgical Bonzi method.
Dr. Salama Jumaa stressed that what he witnessed from the interaction and distinct medical efforts he embodies the message of Al -Azhar in human care, explaining that the cost of treating one child reaches 3 thousand dollars over the course of 4 years, borne in the entire hospital without the families download any financial burdens.
The President of the University met with a number of parents who expressed their gratitude to Al -Azhar and Al -Zahra Hospital, for their medical and humanitarian support for their children without charge.
For his part, Dr. Yasser Al -Batrawi thanked the virtue of the Grand Imam and the Virtue of the President of the University, for their continuous support for the medical system, and also reviewed the history of the Hanafi foot unit, which has provided free treatment for children from various governorates of the Republic for more than 23 years without complications.
Al -Batrawi pointed out that the unit is one of the first centers to introduce Bonzi’s method to Egypt, after receiving his training directly at the hands of its inventor, Professor Bonzi in the United States of America, and the clinic was approved by the Health Insurance Authority, and the provision of American therapeutic shoe for children for free throughout the treatment period.
At the end of the tour, the President of the University expressed his pride in the advanced level in providing health service in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, praising the efforts of the medical team, and stressing that this performance reflects the status of Al -Azhar University as a scientific and doctor who is able to compete locally, regionally and internationally.
