The New Valley Governorate announced today, Sunday, the start of the implementation of the fish farming project to provide fresh fish at reduced prices in the Balat Center.

Salama Mohamed, head of the Balat Center and City in the New Valley, said today, Sunday, that the implementation of the fish farming project in the center in the villages of “Tanada” of the center affiliated Fish 15 thousand fish.
Salama stressed that the center succeeded in implementing the experiment after taking advantage of the experiences of workers in the local units of the villages of Awlad Abdullah and Al -Bashandi of the center in the implementation of similar fish farming projects, which represents a qualitative plan in expanding the implementation of such projects.
Salama explained that the project course is from 6-8 months, after which the project is harvested and is taking place under the supervision of a specialized technical from the Fish Resources Authority to ensure the quality of the product, explaining that offering production directly to consumers aims to reduce mediation rings and provide fair prices, noting that there are future plans to expand the number of basins to increase production.
He pointed out that the project comes within the framework of the directives of Major General Mohamed Zamlout, the governor of the New Valley, to support the food security system, increase the supply of fresh fish protein, and reduce the cost of transferring it from the coastal provinces.
