Social media witnessed a wide state of interaction after a post published by a citizen, in which he revealed the details of what he described as a “grave medical neglect” that his late brother Islam (35 years) was exposed to inside the university hospital in Benha, which led to his death after the deterioration of his health.

The brother of the deceased in his complaint on the social networking site Facebook explained that Islam was suffering from a fracture of the spine, because of his surgery on August 17, noting that his condition was stable until the 21st of the same month, before serious symptoms began to appear on him, including repeated cramps, a rise in temperature, and a deterioration in consciousness, he said.
He added in his narration that the family faced “a complete absence of rapid medical intervention and the lack of doctors in critical times,” stressing that the initial diagnoses did not reflect the truth of the condition, and that the patient was afflicted with a fatal bacterial infection known as acinetobacter inside the hospital, which led to bloody poisoning that affected the cells of the brain and biological systems.
The patient’s brother indicated that there is a delay in conducting medical analyzes and examinations, on top of which is a blood farm, as well as a delay in starting the appropriate treatment after the results appeared, stressing that all of this contributed to the deterioration of his brother’s condition until he entered intensive care in a late position, and he lost awareness completely, before his death.

Al -Dakhkhni called on the patient’s family to go to the hospital’s citizen service center and submit an official complaint with their damage, stressing that it will be examined accurately and the necessary measures were taken, stressing that “the hospital is working to serve citizens and patients alike.”
