The team, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, head of the Supreme Council of Health, inaugurated the Early Examination Clinic to hear the newborns in the Salmaniya Medical Complex, in the presence of Dr. Maryam Adeshi Al -Jalahmah, CEO of government hospitals and a number of officials and doctors.

The move comes within the framework of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s interest in enhancing integrated health care programs for newborns, and applying the best global practices in the field of early detection of diseases, which contributes to ensuring healthy and integrated growth for children from their early stages.

Dr. Maryam Suhaan, Head of the Ear, Ear and Throat and Jaw surgery in government hospitals, confirmed that the new clinic will contribute to early detection of audiovisual cases of newborns using the latest advanced medical techniques, explaining that early detection allows the therapeutic intervention in a timely manner, which reduces the negative effects on the logical, linguistic and auditory growth for children.

She added that this service constitutes a qualitative shift in the health care system for children in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as it will contribute to raising the level of quality of services provided and ensuring the necessary treatment in a way that enhances Bahrain’s march towards achieving the sustainable development goals in the health field.

The opening of the clinic comes within the efforts of government hospitals to develop pediatric services, and to expand the scope of preventive tests that keep pace with the latest international standards, in order to support government hospitals’ efforts to upgrade the quality of life and the health system in the Kingdom.
