Rawan bint Naguib Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, held two meetings with Amina C. Muhammad, Deputy Secretary -General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Group for Sustainable Development, and Mr. Felipe Boyer, Assistant Secretary -General of the United Nations for Youth Affairs, on the sidelines of the high -level meeting to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the World Youth Work Program, held within the high -level week of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly at the United Nations headquarters in New York, under the slogan: “The World Youth Work Program after thirty years: accelerating global progress from During cooperation between generations. ”

During her meeting with the Deputy Secretary -General of the United Nations, His Excellency the Minister discussed aspects of joint cooperation in the field of youth development and the development of their capabilities, and to benefit from the expertise of the United Nations in supporting their participation and enabling them to contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals. Her Excellency also reviewed the details of the “Al -Amal Network” initiative launched by the Kingdom of Bahrain, explaining its goals in expanding the scope of youth participation at the international level, and the most prominent achievements achieved by the network since its inception, which contributed to the consolidation of its position as an active international youth platform.

In its meeting with the Assistant Secretary -General of the United Nations for Youth Affairs, His Excellency the Minister of Youth Affairs affirmed the firm commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance the partnership with the United Nations in the field of empowering youth, praising the resulted in the existing cooperation and qualitative programs that contributed to the cultivation of Bahraini youth skills, and to provide them with the necessary capabilities and knowledge for the future, in order to enhance their role as active partners in the national and international development process.

The two sides also discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to expand the scope of initiatives directed to young people, and reviewed the most important programs to be implemented within the “Hope Network” to enhance its international impact.

For their part, the United Nations officials praised the pioneering efforts made by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of supporting and empowering young people, noting the leading initiatives and qualitative projects that it launched, and the success and successful international presence of the “Al -Amal” network that enhances its positive impact on young people around the world, in line with Bahrain’s aspirations and the United Nations vision in supporting and empowering young generations.
