With the beginning of each academic year, students return to the seats of study and meet in the school environment various personalities, including strong, confident and talented, including shy and uncomfortable from itself, this diversity may be a reason for the emergence of harmful behaviors such as bullying, when some students take advantage of the different colleagues and direct them with hurtful words such as: your bag is very old!
These are not just passing words, but a reality that many students live daily inside the school. Far from their home where family support is surrounded by peers who are insulting and bullying, and do not know how to deal with them. Rather, many of them prefer not to go to school, and they are afraid of revealing what is in their chest, for fear that they will be described as cheese, which leaves them alone in front of their suffering. This raises an urgent question:
What is the solution? Is there anyone who can protect them? Is there a role for the teacher in discovering their pain before he aggravated?
Here, the teacher’s role in protecting students and discovering their exposure to bullying before he worsened. As happened with Youssef, the quiet student who was flying because of his slim body and the softness of his voice, so he began to isolate and hate school. But Professor Fahd noticed his change, and spoke with him, then supported him through an artistic competition in which Joseph showed his talent, which changed the perception of his colleagues to him completely.
Thanks to this support, Youssef regained his self -confidence, and achieved success.
The teacher plays a pivotal humanitarian role in supporting his students and surrounding them with love and attention, which contributes to creating a safe environment. This role is reflected in his keenness to enhance the values of mutual respect between students, and to consolidate a full -time culture, through: putting clear controls within the class that emphasizes the importance of respect, and rejects ridicule.
The teacher also has a role in being more aware of monitoring bullying indicators through his observation of student behaviors, whether who shows aggressive behavior, or who appears to be introverted, shame and fear, which may make him vulnerable to bullying. It is important not to ignore these signals, but rather to deal with them, with the aim of finding participatory solutions in cooperation with parents and school administration.
In conclusion, the teacher remains the maker of hope and the buildings of generations, who has the ability to protect his students, contain them, and give them love and support. Its role is not only limited to the transfer of knowledge, but extends to include instilling peace values, and enhancing the feeling of safety in the classroom environment.
