The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced the start of the implementation of the project to develop and raise the efficiency of Emirates Street, at an estimated cost of 750 million dirhams, and a period of implementation extending for two years. The project comes within a comprehensive national plan to address traffic congestion and construct a smart, flexible and sustainable infrastructure that supports economic growth and enhances the quality of life, while the project includes expanding the road from three to five lanes in each direction with a length of 25 km, starting from the intersection of Budaiya to the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, raising the absorptive capacity of the road to about 9 thousand vehicles per hour, an increase of 65%.
