US President Donald Trump said he will impose a 100% tax on imported drugs unless their manufacturers have built factories in the United States.
Trump announces the imposition of new customs duties starting in October
Trump also announced the imposition of a 50% tax on kitchen cabinets and bathroom cosmetics, 30% on upholstered furniture, and 25% on heavy trucks starting from the beginning of next October.
The publications on his social networking site showed that Trump’s clinging to customs duties did not end with commercial tires and import taxes that were launched last August, which is a reflection of the president’s confidence that taxes will help reduce the government’s budget deficit while increasing local manufacturing, according to the American Associated Press.
