The Ministry of Interior announced that the Child Protection Unit in the electronic space of the General Administration of Anti -Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security managed to arrest a 22 -year -old, after he lured and extorted a 13 -year -old girl through a social media.
The unit indicated that, as soon as it received a report in this regard, the police began searching, investigating, collecting information and evidence that resulted in identifying and arresting the accused.
The General Administration of Anti -Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security indicated that the necessary legal measures have been taken, in preparation for referring the case to the Public Prosecution.
The Child Protection Unit in the electronic space stressed the importance of following parents to their children permanently and continuously, and educating them about the dangers of using some social media applications and other websites of all kinds, and ensuring the integrity of their contents, in addition to making them aware of the methods of proper behavior when exposed to any threat or danger, calling on parents to communicate with the unit by contacting the direct number 33523300, or via e -mail (Email Protected) or the hotline of the General Administration of Anti -Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security 992 when suspected of any activity that would pose a threat to the safety of children.
