The southern municipal council approved the proposal submitted by the Council of the Council, the representative of the sixth district, Ahmed Al -Abdullah, regarding the revival of the project to fall, in coordination with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Agriculture and Municipal Councils.
Al -Abdullah stressed that the aim of this proposal is to restore the spirit to an important national project that provides safe and appropriate housing for citizens with low incomes, and contributes to upgrading the level of housing for all citizens in the Kingdom.
Al -Abdullah said that the project for the fall houses was one of the most prominent projects that the Ministry of Municipalities supervised in cooperation with the municipal councils since 2008, before the file was transferred in 2012 to the Ministry of Housing, but the project has actually stopped after that ยป.
He added that the Ministry of Housing put in 2017 a plan to deal with the file, its content is to apply the conditions that must be met on those who ask for a restoration loan, but this trend reflected negatively on a wide segment of citizens who yesterday need to improve the conditions of their residence, as the minimum loan is twenty thousand Bahraini dinars that is not enough to demolish and rebuild the house, while the average limit that may cover costs reaches thirty thousand dinars.
He pointed out that obligating homeowners to pay installments that double their living burdens, especially since most of them are low -income, and they receive aid from the Ministry of Social Development, including widows, divorced women, minors and the elderly, the group for which the project was established.
Al -Abdullah explained that a large percentage of citizens who meet the conditions of the project cannot take responsibility for demolishing and building themselves, and that many of them do not have their families who follow the construction and achievement operations, in addition to that the citizens registered on the waiting lists see that it is not fair to transfer them to the new system at a time when those who preceded the project have benefited for free, and that many of the houses that were built fifty years ago in areas such as the city of Issa Riffs and lakes are today the fall of the fall, and it poses a threat to its inhabitants, and most of them are low -income, which makes the return of the project an urgent necessity.
He noted that the project represents an essential element of sustainable urban development in the Kingdom, and that it stops it greatly harmful to citizens of the owners of the fall houses, so the aspirations of citizens to revive it and their continuous urgency to find radical solutions, and consider them who preceded them as a good example, are all reasons that push for the return of the project and its development under the supervision and follow -up of municipal councils.
