Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, the governor of Qena, said that the project of developing the Corniche of the city of Qena is one of the most important development and civilizational projects that the governorate is witnessing in recent years, pointing out that the Corniche will be a free and open outlet for all citizens, and a new tourist destination that contributes to attracting investments and stimulating the movement of tourism coming from Luxor and Aswan, as well as its role in providing various job opportunities for the people of Qena.

The governor explained that the design of the project came the product of a major architectural competition in which specialized consulting offices participated, as the best ideas presented by the winning projects to come up with an integrated vision that combines architectural beauty with service function, stressing that the primary goal was to give a civilized nature befitting the Nile interface of the city with the maximum benefit from the area overlooking the river.

He pointed out that the Corniche will contain a set of unprecedented services in the governorate, as it includes extended green spaces, entertainment places, a compound of restaurants, cafes, kiosks and bazaars for displaying handicrafts and heritage products, along with various food carts, a children’s game, aquatic sports activities and spaces for fishing and memorial photos, as well It exceeds a full kilometer, a flood of movement along the corniche, a wide square for celebrations, artistic and theatrical performances, in addition to an open -air cinema screen, as well as providing the project with a modern lighting system and toilets equipped at the highest level.

Abdel Halim stressed that the management and operation of the Corniche will be assigned to a specialized company to ensure the sustainability of services and maintain the cleanliness and security of the site, explaining that this company will bear all the costs of operation and maintenance from the returns of activities and services provided without the citizens ’burden on any financial burdens.

He added that the final appearance of the project has not yet been completed, as agriculture and afforestation work is still ongoing, as fifty large trees will be cultivated alongside green surfaces and various flowers, which will give the Corniche an integrated aesthetic and civilized touch from the first day of its opening.

The governor pointed out that the project is subject to accurate monitoring of all executive and supervisory bodies to ensure full transparency and good guidance to serve the interest of the Qudai citizen, stressing that the project is scheduled to receive from the contractor by the end of next October, provided that it is officially opened in front of the public at the end of November, so that services begin to gradually operate according to the highest quality standards.

Abdel Halim concluded his statements by inviting citizens to not pay attention to the rumors and wait for the completion of the project to inspect themselves the size of the effort made, noting that the new Qena Corniche will constitute a qualitative shift in the level of recreational and tourism services in the governorate, and it will be a civilized interface worthy of the people of Qena and its visitors.
