Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, stressed that the economic reform program in Egypt was implemented in stages, explaining that the country has passed since 2011 with exceptional circumstances and great challenges, which necessitated in the first stage of reform, defining these challenges and dealing with them, saying: An investor cannot come and there are great challenges in the market without resolving them.

Haiba pointed out during televised statements, that the next stage focused on putting incentives for investment in the targeted sectors, based on accurate studies, which was translated into the incentives and initiatives included in the investment law according to the needs of each sector, stressing that these incentives received wide acceptance among investors.
He explained that the state worked to launch the golden license and encourage investors to benefit from the investment frameworks provided by the investment law, such as free, investment and technological areas, with the various incentives it carries.
He added that Egypt applies international standards in measuring the volume of foreign investments, explaining that these criteria include four sources, namely transferring money to new projects, increasing capital for non -Egyptian investors, re -investing profits, and buying assets and real estate by foreigners.
He pointed out that in 2020, foreign direct investments witnessed a decline, but the situation changed in 2021, when the volume of flows began to develop rapidly, indicating that the period from 2021/2022 to 2022/2023 witnessed a breakthrough of 70%, bringing the volume of direct investments in 2023/2024 to 46.6 billion dollars.
He stated that this mutation came as a result of several factors, foremost of which are facilities and investment incentives and dealing with challenges, which sent a message of confidence to the investors, stressing that the Ras Al -Hikma deal is a prominent model of the fruits of these efforts, and that the state is still continuing to issue more facilities to achieve a greater boom during the coming period.
