Mohamed Gibran, Minister of Labor, said that the establishment of labor courts is one of the most prominent and most important gains of the new labor law, explaining that labor issues took years in the past, which was exhausting both the employer and the worker, while the maximum adjudication in cases became no more than 3 months, in a way that guarantees the speed of deciding and resolving disputes in a fair manner and confirmed that the Minister of Justice issued decisions to establish 38 specialized departments for labor courts.

Gibran: The arbitrary separation has become a criminal in the law

Gibran indicated, during televised comments, that the arbitrary separation has become a criminal in the new law, pointing out that the dismissal of the worker is only formally preserved the rights.

The minister added that the law came in full consensus with business owners, stressing that the establishment of labor courts will not affect the investment climate at all.

And Gibran added: Egypt is a young country, 60% of its population is young, and Egyptian workers are required globally because of its efficiency and mastery.

He pointed out that major national projects produced huge experiences, especially in the architecture sector, which impressed external companies with Egyptian workers.

The Minister of Labor criticized the dealings of some companies with the workers as a commodity, considering this a form of human trafficking, stressing that the ministry is seeking to protect the rights of the Egyptian worker.

Gibran also revealed the expansion of cooperation with Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia, noting that there are more than 60 professions that are currently undergoing professional examination with the Kingdom, with aspiration to increase the number to 160 professions.

He added that Egypt is seeking to activate the electronic link with several countries, pointing out that Jordan has already started implementing this system, while negotiations are still ongoing with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The minister concluded his statements by saying: I spoke with Saudi Labor Minister Ahmed bin Suleiman Al -Rajhi, and we agreed to set a mechanism for a unified work contract documented in Egypt and Saudi Arabia with the same conditions, and I thank the Minister Al -Rajhi for his confidence and cooperation in order to formulate mechanisms that are in the interest of the two countries.
