The Portuguese Foreign Ministry announced that it will formally recognize the State of Palestine next Sunday, in a move that comes after French President Emmanuel Macron announced earlier that it will recognize the State of Palestine during a joint conference with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York.
The Portuguese recognition comes as part of the European moves supporting a comprehensive peace plan that guarantees security and stability for the Palestinians and Israelis.
