Dr. Ashraf Sobhi praised the exceptional performance of the two players, as Hania Al-Hamami succeeded in winning the women’s title after her victory in the final match over her promising teammate Amina Arafi 3-1, in a pure Egyptian final that confirms the leadership of Egyptian women in the global squash.
The minister also praised the great achievement of Mustafa Asal, the world number one, by crowning the men’s title after defeating the Peruvian Diego Elias, the second seed in the world, with a score of 3-1 in a strong match, to confirm “honey” his dominance on the throne of squash for men.
The Minister of Youth and Sports stressed that this double coronation reflects the absolute Egyptian control of the squash game globally, and comes as a result of the great support that the Egyptian state and the political leadership of sports and athletes, which resulted in a generation of heroes raising the flag of Egypt high in all international forums.
