Nissan Motor has announced that it will close its design centers in California and Sao Paulo in America and Brazil, and will reduce its operations in London and Japan, as part of the restructuring of its global design structure.

According to Reuters, the Japanese auto industry added that the restructuring, which will be completed by the end of the fiscal year 2025, aims to simplify its design operations.
These changes, which are part of the broader “Nissan” plan, will merge its design structure in five centers: Los Angeles, London, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Istaghi Japanese.
Nissan announced that its “Studio Six” center in Los Angeles will become its main design center in the United States of America, while London will continue to support the company’s operations in the regions of Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania in cooperation with its partner Renault, and the company has not disclosed the number of jobs that will be affected.
Nissan CEO Evan Espinoza, who in April, in May, revealed the “Nissan” plan for the radical transformation of profitability. The plan included measures such as reducing global production capacity from 3.5 million cars to 2.5 million, and manufacturing sites from 17 to 10 by the fiscal year 2027.
