It raised the incident of a number of Patients With serious complications, after undergoing lens transplants inside October 6 Hospital for Insurance Health in Dokki, a wide state of controversy and anxiety among citizens, after two patients fully lost their eyesight, in light of a defect in the application of infection control procedures inside the operating rooms.
A new victim of October 6 Hospital for Health Insurance
Mohamed Hassan El -Sayed, one of the affected patients, said in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that he performed an operation to remove white water from the right eye on August 28, 2025 inside the hospital, to be surprised after the operation by suffering a severe microbe with the eye that caused serious complications that led to a complete lack of vision.
The patient added that after the emergence of complications, he went again to the hospital in Dokki to find out the reason, and he was surprised by his transfer on September 13 to the Institute of Eye Research in Giza, but the transfer paper was mysteriously written, as it included that his condition needed to remove fibers and remove a glass body, procedure an internal laser, and silicone injection due to a mesh separation, provided that this is done inside the Giza Oncology Research Institute.
He pointed out that upon his arrival at the institute, he was refused to receive him on the pretext that there was no doctor to conduct the examination and complete the required, to be informed of the return again to the 6th of October Hospital in Dokki.
He pointed out that when he arrived at the 6th of October Hospital, he was not authorized by the real problem, which was a separation and atrophy of the retina and the visual nerve, then he was surprised to transfer him on the same day to the Durrat Specialist Eye Center in Heliopolis for other surgery.
He explained that he had already undergone the new operation on September 15th, but he was surprised before it was conducted with a declaration issued by the hospital stating that there is full atrophy in the retina and the visual nerve, in addition to a retinal separation, and that the eye does not see the light at all.
The patient concluded his speech by confirming his intention to resort to the judiciary, saying: I lost my vision in the right eye because of a microbe in the operating room and poor sterilization, and I hold the full responsibility of the medical staff, sterilization doctors, and the hospital director, and I will not leave my right and I will go to the judiciary to hold all the responsible accountable.
