The American authorities are continuing their efforts to track down the shooter who assassinated the right -wing politician Charlie Kirk, The founder of the Turning Point Usa movement, on Wednesday, September 10, during his participation in a student event at Utah Valley University.
Details of the assassination of Charlie Kerk
According to preliminary investigations, the perpetrator was stationed on the roof of the Lawzi Center building located about 200 yards from the location of Kirk under the effective tent.
From this high point, a precise bullet fired a Kirk neck, which led to a severe bleeding before he fell to the ground amid a state of panic among the attendees, and despite his quickly transferring to a local hospital, he died as a result of his wounds, leaving behind a wife and two children.
How did the perpetrator escape?
The controversial is how the shooter managed to escape, despite the widespread security spread on the campus.
According to retired federal agent James Gagliano, in statements to Fox & Friends, the surface where the killer was stationed overlooks an open car park behind the building, which gave him the opportunity to withdraw quickly in a car, before the security forces spread to the place.
Gajliano added that the perpetrator was able to get away several miles in a few minutes, noting that the Provo Airport is just 45 minutes from the accident site, which enhances the hypothesis of his departure completely in a short time.
Professional assassination or a transient attack?
Despite the circulation of hypotheses indicating that the process may carry a professional assassination mark, Gajliano reduced these speculation, pointing out that the distance between the shooter and the goal does not exceed 200 yards, which is not a complex distance for a ram carrying a gun with a perspective.
Immediately after the accident, the authorities arrested two people suspected of being involved, but they were later released after confirming that they were not connected to the crime, and the search is still ongoing for the perpetrator, amid intense cooperation between the university security services, local police and federal resources.
In turn, the governor of Utah Spencer Cox stressed at a press conference the intention of the authorities to pursue the perpetrator and bring him to justice, saying: We will find you, and I remind you that the death penalty is still applied in Utah.

The incident re -shed light on the security risks associated with public events hosting prominent personalities, amid calls to tighten security measures to protect attendance and guests in universities and public places.
