US President Donald Trump announced today, Tuesday, the release of Israeli -Russian researcher Elizabeth Tzorkov, who was holding the Iraqi “Hezbollah Brigades” more than two years ago.
“Tsorkov is now safely at the American embassy in Iraq after being tortured for many months.”.
Tsorkov, who also has Russian nationality, was kidnapped in March 2023 in the Karrada region, one of Baghdad’s commercial neighborhoods, which includes the headquarters of influential parties, pro -Iranian factions, and Iraqi security offices.
Yarkov, a researcher from Princeton University, entered the country legally on an academic mission, according to officials in the Iraqi government.
