Government hospitals confirmed that yesterday evening, the civil defense managed to control a limited fire inside one of the wings in the Salmaniya Medical Complex, thanks to the speed of the response of civil defense teams and in cooperation with the medical and technical cadres in charge of the complex.
The specialized teams were able to contain the fire in record time, after one of the patients caused it, as preliminary information indicates that his criminal record includes precedents in drug use, and that he tried to harm himself more than once.
The aforementioned was injured by some burns, while another patient was affected by the inhalation of smoke, without any other injuries between patients, employees or hospital pioneers, and all the necessary preventive measures were taken to ensure the safety of those present in the building, where partial evacuation measures were taken according to the approved plans.
Government hospitals indicated that working in the medical complex is continuing naturally, expressing their thanks to all the parties that contributed to dealing with the incident, foremost of which is the civil defense, stressing its constant keenness to implement the highest safety standards within its health facilities, and take the relevant legal measures.
