The building of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is adorned with the colors of the Brazilian flag, in a symbolic gesture that expresses the feelings of friendship and appreciation between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Brazil, on the occasion of Brazil’s celebrations of its independence day, which falls on September 7 of each year. Brazil this year commemorates the 20th anniversary of its independence from Portugal, which was officially announced in 1822, a event that formed a new start of the state’s march towards sovereignty and development. This celebration comes within the framework of Abu Dhabi’s keenness to support international relations, and to emphasize the values of tolerance and openness that distinguish Emirati society and celebrate cultural diversity on its land.
