The American envoy to the Middle East, Steve Whittkov, presented a new proposal to reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
According to the American Exeios website, the new American proposal includes reaching an agreement that includes the release of all the remaining hostages in exchange for ending the war in Gaza, and aims to find a diplomatic solution before the widespread attack that Israel is planning to occupy Gaza City.
He added, quoting unnamed sources, that Trump issued instructions to Wittouf to make a renewed effort to reach an agreement to end the war and release all the remaining hostages, followed by a request from Wittouf to the Palestinian American businessman Bishara Habhah, that Hamas tells that if they released all Israeli prisoners, Trump will make sure the war ends.
He pointed out that Bishara Bahbah conveyed the message to Hamas, and then returned to Wittouf at a later time with a message from Hamas expressing its willingness to reach a comprehensive agreement, which the movement clarified in a statement that the release of the prisoners should take place in conjunction with the announcement of the permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Israeli forces from Gaza.
The American envoy Steve Witkev also called in a letter to Hamas through the Israeli Girchon Baskin, as one of the Israeli background channels to communicate with Hamas over the past years (according to Axios).
