In a world in which visions are multiple and interests are intertwined, there is no escape from the occurrence of the dispute between people, but the true value is not measured in the absence of conflict, but rather how it is managed. Here, the concept of honor of rivalry is highlighted as a moral and humanitarian principle that distinguishes civilized societies from others.

The rivalry is not enmity or a square to liquidate the other

People are often mistaken to consider the rivalry as a synonym for hostility, while its fact is that it is a dispute in a position or interest, it should be managed within the framework of justice and respect. The Almighty says: “And there are no people who do not like you, do not adjust it, it is the closest to the piety.”

– The moral dimension: The honor of litigation means that you are an outrage in your position, honest in your argument, away from defamation, distortion and lying. Your opponent is not your enemy, but your partner one day brought you affection or friendship in a human test in which your values are measured. The scholars and imams have given the most wonderful examples, “I have seen anyone unless I wished that God shows the truth on his tongue.”

– The legal dimension: The just laws in turn assume goodwill in the conflict, and the punishment of those who misuse the right, or understand the evidence, or challenge its opponent unlawfully. The legitimate conflict does not justify the decline in the means.

– Towards a new societal awareness: While advanced societies have learned their children since childhood the skills of managing the dispute in a sophisticated spirit, the rivalry in some of our societies turns into an arena for revenge or incitement, which kills social fabric, and undermines confidence in institutions.

Therefore, the consolidation of the culture of honoring the rivalry is a shared responsibility for educational, religious and legal institutions, as a civilized value not only moral luxury.

Conclusion: The honorable rivalry is to differ in dignity, defend your right fairly, and maintain your humanity amid the dispute. It is not only a title for the individual to prepare, but a testimony to the maturity of the whole society.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing is said: “The litigation does not allow injustice, and does not justify degeneration and revenge.”
